The Griesbach Quartermaster Stores, Minor Type A building was constructed to accommodate the growing requirements of a major military installation at the height of the Cold War. The Quarter Master’s Stores is a very good example of the International Style of architecture with ‘Meisian‘ influences (pavilion with simple, exposed steel structure), and typified by the use of clean horizontal massing, flat roof, expressed steel structural frame, infill either with red brick or glazed curtain wall panels, and projecting canopies over the entrance and loading dock.
